The electrification of our transportation system away from fossil fuels is happening rapidly and part of the transition is building out the infrastructure to support electric vehicles in order to combat CO2 emissions.

There are Federal, state and local government incentives as well as utility driven programs to help reduce the costs of installing an electric vehicle charging station (EVSE). We’re listing some of these resources here with links to learn more. Many of these grants, incentives and programs are the result of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

Washington State Incentives For EV Charging Station Installations

Depending on where you are located, your utility or local government agency may offer financial incentives, grants to help reduce the costs of installing an electric vehicle charging station.

Washington state does not charge sales tax on the purchase of the EV charging station, the materials or labor saving you about 10%.

The US Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center is full of resources to help people find out about incentives and grants available for electric vehicle charging stations including Washington.
